Traditional House of Papua Indonesia

Honai is a traditional house of Papua.
Honai house is made of wood with a conical roof made of straw or reeds.The shape is like a mushroom. Honai house purposely built narrow room or small room and windowless in order to withstand the cold mountains of Papua. Honai usually built as high as 2.5 meters and at the center of the house prepared a place to build a fire to warm them. Honai house divided into three types, namely for men (called Honai), women (calledEbei), and pig cage (called Wamai).
